Postsecondary Institutions

LAWS has always sought to help foster justice-themed youth outreach programming in other communities and at other postsecondary institutions. The expansion of the LAWS partnership to include Osgoode Hall Law School at York University in 2011 is a concrete manifestation of this goal.

If you are a law school, postsecondary institution, faculty member, teacher or community organization interested in developing programming similar to LAWS, we are very happy to share our experience and expertise with you.

Each Spring we hold a Justice Education Symposium for Postsecondary Institutions.  This two-day event, presented by LAWS in partnership with the Ontario Justice Education Network (OJEN), showcases different justice themed youth outreach programming models, justice education resources, and expertise in successfully promoting an understanding of the justice system in partnership with academic institutions. The symposium provides an annual opportunity for law schools, postsecondary institutions, members of the legal profession, representatives of youth and community organizations, and educators to connect, share best practices and explore partnership possibilities. In past years attendees have come from all over Ontario and from outside the province.
