University of Toronto Faculty of Law

Overview:

Central to this Faculty’s reputation of excellence are the outstanding achievements and diversity of both our faculty and students. –Dean Mayo Moran

The Univeristy of Toronto Faculty of Law is one of the leading law schools in Canada.  Located in the heart of Toronto, it is renowned for its distinguished faculty, exceptional students and prominent alumni.

LAWS was the innovation of Ron Daniels, the former Dean of the University of Toronto Faculty of Law.  It was developed in response to Daniels’ recognition that although law school was a well resourced institution with considerable expertise and engaged staff, faculty and students, it was immediately adjacent to high schools with diverse student bodies who faced significant challenges to succeeding in high school, accessing postsecondary education, attending law school and joining the legal profession.  Launched in 2005 as a partnership between the University of Toronto Faculty of Law and the Toronto District School Board, LAWS is an innovative education program aimed at supporting, guiding and motivating high school students who face challenges in engaging successfully with school and accessing postsecondary education.
